Accelerating digital health innovation, so breakthroughs can happen faster

From early research studies to future healthcare products, digital health innovation starts with understanding what works. We're removing the technical barriers that slow evidence generation, making it easier for researchers and innovators to create digital health Apps, test full-system feasibility and conduct user studies.

Start with the end user in mind

Digital health has the potential to transform healthcare, but too many promising ideas struggle to move beyond concepts and prototypes. Researchers often face significant barriers when trying to test digital health technologies with actual users, from the cost, time, and complexity of custom software development, to the challenges of innovating within a highly regulated sector.

We created Colinear to make it easier for researchers without technical teams to create, test and improve digital health technologies with end users in the earliest stages of innovation. By enabling researchers to configure and evaluate functional apps without coding, Colinear helps teams collect real-user data, test research hypotheses, demonstrate technical feasibility, and identify the innovations with the greatest potential for impact.

Photo of Mairi Wac

Mairi Wac

MEng PhD

Mairi specialises in translating digital health research into real-world impact through co-design, evidence generation, and regulatory strategy. A biomedical engineer by background, she has experiencing designing, evaluating and deploying digital health technologies, working alongside 3 NHS trusts during her time as an academic at the Universities of Strathclyde and Bristol. Her experience spans co-designing virtual reality applications with teenagers and young adults with cancer to supporting the translation of machine-learning-driven intensive care decision support tools into clinical practice. Combining expertise in biomedical engineering, software development, and qualitative research, Mairi bridges the gap between academic innovation and real-world adoption, supporting the development and commercialisation of safe, ethical, and clinically meaningful technologies.
